Kari Brunson

Food blogger & aspiring chef
Former dancer, Pacific Northwest Ballet

Kari Brunson has always been a performer. When her mother enrolled her in ballet at age 3, she discovered a dynamic outlet for her energy and natural gift for the stage. Originally from Salem, Virginia, Kari first professionally trained at Southwest Virginia Ballet, moved on to the School of American Ballet, and joined Seattle’s Pacific Northwest Ballet in 2002.

Since becoming a member of the corps de ballet, Kari’s many performances include roles in Ronald Hyne’s Sleeping Beauty, Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, a leading role in Kent Stowell’s The Nutcracker and a role in Susan Marshall’s Kiss, where she was suspended in air above the stage.

Besides the inspiration she receives from co-workers, Kari counts the costumes as one of her favorite parts of performing, and loves the similar feel MPG clothing offers, “Like a ballet costume, MPG makes you feel beautiful. It enhances your movements, rather than impedes them.”

We've had the pleasure of Ms. Brunson's talents in many MPG campaigns. She has since left the PNB to pursue another passion in the culinary arts. Based in the Greater Seattle area, she is now an aspiring chef and food blogger.
