Batkhurel Bold

Principal, Pacific Northwest Ballet

Trained at the Perm Choreographic Academy in Russia, Batkhurel Bold was born in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. His inspiration for dance has taken him to the other side of the globe to Seattle, where he first joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in 1996.

Today, Batkhurel is a Principal dancer with the company and has performed leading roles in over 40 productions, including the role of Theseus in George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, filmed for BBC in London in 1999.

After decades of practice, it’s clear to Batkhurel who and what keeps him going, “I like dancing in front of thousands of people, but it’s actually my parents who inspire me.”

On and off the stage, Batkhurel enjoys the movement and freedom MPG offers. “As a dancer, comfort is so important... But what stands out the most is the unique design and colour. It felt good on the body."
